*Independence Day Celebration*
St Aloysius English Medium School, Urwa, joyfully celebrated the 79th Independence Day of our nation on 15th August 2025 at the Urwa Church grounds, with great pride and patriotism. The programme commenced with the welcome of dignitaries – Correspondent Rev. Fr. Benjamin Pinto, Asst. Priest Fr. Lanson Maxim Pinto, Chief Guest Rev. Fr. Rajesh Melwin Rosario – Rector – St. Joseph’s Interdiocesan Seminary Jeppu, Mr. Loyd Lobo Vice president – Parish Pastoral Council, Headmaster Mr. Aloysius D’Souza, Headmistress of St Aloysius Kannada Medium School, and the Headmistress Pompei High school. Urwa.
The tricolour was hoisted by the Chief Guest, accompanied by the singing of the National Anthem, filling the atmosphere with patriotic fervour. A special tribute was paid to Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, honouring his invaluable contribution to our nation.
Students from all three schools presented a vibrant display showcasing the spirit of unity and freedom. The High School students of our institution performed a melodious patriotic song, evoking a sense of pride in every heart.
The celebration also included the felicitation of our school’s toppers for the academic year 2024–25, as well as the sports achievers who brought laurels to the school.
In his address, Rev. Fr. Rajesh Melwin Rosario inspired the gathering with his words on the importance of preserving our hard-earned freedom and contributing positively to the nation’s progress.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, followed by the distribution of sweets to all, marking a sweet end to the patriotic celebrations.Asst
