Vanmahotsav Celebration at St. Aloysius English Medium School, Urwa – 16th July 2025
The Eco Club of St. Aloysius English Medium School, Urwa, joyfully celebrated Vanmahotsav on 16th July 2025 with great enthusiasm and awareness-driven activities to promote the importance of afforestation and environmental conservation.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome and anchoring by MC Shringarika Srivastava, who gracefully guided the event. The gathering was led into a prayer by Brijesh Kumar, invoking blessings for a greener and healthier planet.
To set a reflective tone, the Thought for the Day was shared by U. Nandan Pai, inspiring everyone to value nature and its countless gifts. The Significance of Vanmahotsav was then elaborated by Leston Sherwin D’Souza, Shammas Moideen, and Udbhav, who highlighted the need for plantation drives and preserving biodiversity.
Eco Club members also raised awareness through catchy and meaningful slogans presented by Maanvi, Mohammed Ayman, Vrinda, Ravina Kumari, Shaanvi, and Ayesha Riza, encouraging everyone to plant more trees and protect the environment.
An insightful presentation on the important duties to be followed by every citizen towards environmental conservation was read out by Ajna Jagdish, Saachi Shetty, and Leston D’Souza, reminding everyone of their role in safeguarding nature for future generations.
Our Head master Mr. Aloysius D’souza addressed the students with a valuable message and quotes, he stressed on the importance of being close to nature and protecting it . He congratulated the Eco club members and their incharge teachers Mrs Laveena Dcunha and Mrs Lavina correa for their meaningful program.
Eco club members also planted saplings in the school premises.
The programme concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by MC Shringarika Srivastava, appreciating the efforts of all participants and encouraging continued commitment to eco-friendly practices.
The celebration was a true reflection of the students’ dedication and the school’s mission to nurture responsible citizens who care for Mother Earth.
