Today marked the grand reopening of St. Aloysius English Medium School, Urwa, with a special assembly conducted by the students of Class 10. The ceremony began with a heartfelt prayer service emphasizing the theme, “Let the glory of the school shine by making good use of it,” inspired by St. Aloysius. The ceremonial lighting of the lamp was a highlight, symbolizing the light of knowledge and wisdom that guides the institution.
The Headmaster delivered an inspiring message during the opening ceremony, setting a positive tone for the new academic year. In his speech, he encouraged students to strive for excellence and uphold the values and traditions of the school.
Fr. Benjamin Pinto, the correspondent, extended a warm welcome to all the students, with a special mention for the new students. His words of encouragement aimed to instill a sense of belonging and excitement among the students.
A symbolic distribution of textbooks to six students was carried out, signifying the importance of education and the new beginnings each academic year brings. This event was graced by the presence of senior teacher Lavina D’cunha, the School Pupil Leader Pravijyav(SPL) and Lesson Lerwin Dsouza (ASPL), and two new students representing the first standard, underscoring the school’s commitment to fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment. To add a touch of sweetness to the occasion, sweets were distributed to the students, infusing the atmosphere with joy.
The programme concluded with the school song and national anthem.
